“Where the Word of God Meets Life”
The Mission and Vision for Grand View Baptist Church is to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, both locally and globally thereby fulfilling the Great Commission.
We serve to honor the Word of God through the preaching and teaching of sound doctrine, and to make disciples of all believers.
Our desire is to see God’s Word transform every aspect of the believers life, for His Glory and His Honor.
What we believe
BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God in both the New and Old Testaments. - II Timothy 3:16; John 17:17; II Peter 1:21
God
We believe there is only one God who exists in the form of three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. - Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16
Jesus christ
We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. Jesus Christ is both fully divine and fully human. He will return someday for believers and dwell with them forever. - Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 20; Luke 1:34-35; John 1:1; Philippians 2:6; John 1:14; Romans 8:3; I Timothy 2:5, 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer at the point of salvation. This indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, which occurs at salvation, is called the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The filling of the Holy Spirit is an experience, which follows salvation and occurs when believers submit themselves to the controlling power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives various spiritual gifts to believers. The purpose of these gifts is for the building up of the church. - John 14:16-18; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; I Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:5; I Corinthians 12:11; I Corinthians 14:3-5, 12, 17, 26.
satan
We believe Satan is real, but God is more powerful than Satan and has already defeated the power of Satan on the cross. Satan is the originator of evil in our world. - Matthew 13:19, 39; Acts 5:3; II Corinthians 11:14; Hebrews 2:14-15; Genesis 3:1-7; Ephesians 6:10-12.
sin
We believe that all people have sinned. - Romans 3:9; 10, 22, 23, Psalm 14; Isaiah 53:6.
salvation
We believe that Jesus Christ died for all people, but only those who accept forgiveness offered by Christ will be saved. Those who have not accepted this forgiveness will suffer eternal punishment. Salvation is on the basis of faith only and is evidenced by a changed life. - Romans 5:18; II Corinthians 5:19; I John 2:2; John 3:16; I Timothy 1:16; Matthew 26:46; Revelation 20:11-15; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 8:31; 14:15; I John 2:3.
marriage
Marriage has been instituted by God. Grand View Baptist Church defines “marriage” as the exclusive covenantal union of a man and woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government’s sanction of a union will be recognized as a legitimate marriage by GVBC only to the extent that it is consistent with the definition of “marriage’ found in Scripture.
